Dave Mahan hired as Parks director

The county parks board and the Board of County Commissioners Monday approved appointment of Dave Mahan to serve as director of Parks and Recreation. Mahan fills the position vacated with the retirement of Tim Myers in June.

Janel Goebel was appointed to be interim director while a new director was sought.

Goebel and Bill Tensfeld, director of the Emergency Management department, said the appointment followed two application rounds for the vacant position.
