A graveside service for Elna Anne Sharp Paulson, 87, retired Rosalia teacher, was Wednesday morning, Aug. 16, 2017, at the Bethel Cemetery in Steptoe followed by a formal memorial service at the Rosalia United Methodist Church. Mrs. Paulson died Aug. 10, 2017.
Born Oct. 4, 1929, in Spokane, to Dewey and Georgia Land Sharp, she was raised in Steptoe and was the salutatorian of the Steptoe High School class of 1947. She continued her education at Eastern Washington College and graduated in 1951.
She and Wilbur Paulson were married in 1954 and celebrated 63 years of marriage. They settled in Rosalia. After her retirement from the Rosalia School District in 1993, she became involved with the Daughters of the American Revolution and served many roles, including regent. She was also a member of Rebecca Lodge and Rosalia United Methodist Church. A talented pianist, she also gifted many people with her crocheted blankets.
Surviving are her husband, Wilbur; two sons, Kevin (Helen) Paulson, and Arlin (Cindy) Paulson; sister, Delores Storment; brother, William Sharp; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Marcus William Tollett, 76, was born May 6, 1941, in Spokane, Wash., and passed away Aug. 7, 2017, in St. John, Wash.
Mark was raised on Thorn Creek Road most of his life, with the exception of four years.
He was a WSU graduate with a degree in Ag Econ and served three years in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant Green Beret Special Forces.
After the service, he came home and farmed full-time until a year before his death.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; sons Mike (Lisa), Matt (Amy) and Cliff (Corrie), and seven grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Vincent.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mary Lee and Cliff Tollett, sister Pat, and brother William.
At Mark’s request, there will be no service.
