Tekoa Trails gala

slated at Mansion

Tekoa Trestle and Trails Association plans a “Gala at Tekoa Mansion” Saturday, Sept. 9, from 6 to 9 p.m.

The evening will include live music, gaming tables, silent auction, door prizes, appetizers and beer and wine from the no-host bar. All proceeds will benefit the Tekoa Trail and Trestle Association to improve the John Wayne Pioneer Trail.

Cost for the 21 and older event will be $20 person or $35 per couple for advance tickets, which are available at Tekoa Hardware, Banner Bank, Eclair's and Tekoa Market.

Tickets will also be available at the door for $25 per person or $45 per couple.

The Cary Novotny Band will feature Irish and country sounds.

The white, three-story Tekoa Mansion is at 141 South Howard Street.

'Voices of Colfax'

slated at library

The film “Voices of Colfax”, along with special guests Don Schmick and Judge Gary Libey, will appear Tuesday, Sept. 5, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Colfax Library. The local film explores the history of Colfax through interviews with a number of community residents, including Schmick, who is often referred to as Mr. Colfax, and Judge Libey. “Voices” was compiled by the 2016-17 sixth graders from Jennings Elementary and teachers, Tim Young and Mollie Kramer. The showing is free, and popcorn will be served.

Blue Mustangs

Tekoa's Empire Theatre will welcome Spokane’s KHQ news anchor Sean Owsley & The Blue Mustangs Saturday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

The concert will be preceded by a beer tasting event at Eclairs, beginning at 5:45 p.m.

Tickets are sold separately for the concert and the beer tasting event: concert tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (60+ and military) and $10 for students.

Band members include Sean, lead vocals/rhythm guitar; Andy Stidham, lead guitar/vocals; Darrin Truitt, bass guitar; Kevin Powell O’Reilly, keyboard/vocals, and Shane Chamberlain, drums.

to hear Avista VP

Pullman Chamber of Commerce September general membership luncheon will feature Heather Rosentrater, vice president of Energy Delivery at Avista.

The luncheon will begin at noon Sept. 12 at Banyans on the Ridge, and seating will be limited. Cost is $15 per person or $12 for Pullman Chamber members. Reservations should be made by Sept. 8 with the Pullman Chamber of Commerce.

Dahmen books

Jessica Lynne

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown will present upcoming country star Jessica Lynn Sept. 2. Ticket sales at the door will begin at 6:15 p.m. Food, beer and wine will be available for attendees 21 and older.

The concert will start at 7 p.m.

Lynne grew up in Haslev, Denmark, and moved to Seattle a few years ago. She recorded at Seattle’s Columbia City Theater with her band, The Cousins.

Since signing to London Tone Music, Jessica’s life has been a whirlwind of activity. She has opened for artists like Keith Anderson, Lady Antebellum and Tim McGraw.

Salmon Guild

The Dahmen Barn September art exhibit will feature members of the Salmon River Art Guild. An opening reception will be Sept. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Hayloft Gallery. The exhibit opens Sept. 1 and continues through Sept. 24.

The Salmon River Art Guild was founded in 1964 by three artist friends from Riggins, Idaho, just 30 miles up river from its current home at White Bird. Today, the guild has more than 50 members with varied talents. The members come from all over west central Idaho. Many have been recognized nationally for their work.

Award winning members come from all over Idaho. Members work in a variety of mediums including 2-D and 3-D art.
