Thursday, Aug. 31

Colfax – 12 to 1 p.m. – Flex and Flow Yoga – Focus on foundation and breath while building strength, flexibility and focus.

Albion – Knit Night – 5 to 7:30 p.m. – Learn to knit or bring any craft project you are working on and join us as we work together.

Colton – 6 p.m. – Book Club – Join our lively discussion of "Painted Horses" by Malcolm Brooks, who visited us last fall.

Rosalia – 7 p.m. – Starry Night Storytime – Kids of all ages are invited to join us for fun, songs, snacks and stories celebrating a sky full of wonders. Bring the whole family for a fantastical time.

Friday, Sept. 1

All Branches of Whitman County Library – Library Card Sign-Up Month – A library card is the key to limitless opportunity. Sign-up for a card this month and be entered for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate sponsored by the Friends of WCL.

Endicott – 10 a.m. – Storytime – Children up to six-years-old are invited to bring their grownups for FUN and learning.

St. John – 11 a.m. – Early Learning Storytime – Join us for music, crafts, and stories. Newborns to toddlers to kids, up to six-years-old, and their families are welcome.

Malden – 12:30 p.m. – Caregiver Support Group – Meet with Melissa Johnson from Rural Resources for an opportunity to help lighten the caregiving load with resources and support. Come share your experiences and strategies.

Malden – 6 p.m. – Book Club – Share your thoughts on the book, “Stories of Your Life and Others” by Ted Chiang.

Saturday, Sept. 2 – Monday, Sept. 4

All 14 branches of Whitman County Library will be closed Sept. 2–4, however, many of our resources, including our online catalog, Microsoft Imagine Academy, Chilton Auto Repair, Powerspeak Languages and our Little Free Libraries are always open. Located throughout Whitman County, our Little Free Libraries encourage residents to "take a book and leave a book." Tuesday, Sept. 5

Colfax – 11 a.m. – Friends of the Library Meeting – Everyone is invited to attend and see what being a friend is all about.

Colfax – 12 to 1 p.m. – Tech Tuesday: NOW SHOWING. “Voices of Colfax” – This documentary explores the history of our town and was created by the JES Community Outreach Committee, the 2016/17 sixth grade students and their teachers, Tim Young and Mollie Kramer. Come enjoy popcorn while you learn a little about our great town.

Colfax – 2 to 4 p.m. – Color Me Crafty – Get creative with friends, and enjoy classical music and some very delicious treats.

Palouse – 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. – Crazy 8s Math Club – Kids, grades 3 – 5, sign-up today for MATH GONE WILD. Crazy 8s is a fun, frenzied and FREE after school program which is guaranteed to knock your socks off.

Wednesday, Sept. 6

Colfax – 10 to 11 a.m. – Fit and Fun Exercise Class – Enjoy a gentle warm-up, low impact aerobic workout and a soothing cool down. Cost is $5 per class, but instructor, Nancy Stanard, invites you to try your first class for free.

Thursday, Sept. 7

Colfax – First Thursday – Join in the fall harvest fun and visit librarian, Kristie Ann, for the Seed Library Open House from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to learn how a seed library works and how you can join the gardening excitement. Visit downtown Colfax from 5 to 7 p.m. to enjoy Wylie and the Wild West perform for the crowd on West Spring Street.

Albion – 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. – Thursday Art – Do you like paint? Markers? Mixed media art? All kids are invited to join us.

Palouse Empire Fair – Boots, Buckles and Spurs: Celebrating 50 years of Rodeo. Visit the library booth to view Palouse Empire Fair photos from our Rural Heritage Collection, spin the wheel for prizes, name the library pig and say "HOWDY" to our friendly staff. Library booth will be open during exhibit hours.
