An open house tour has been scheduled at Pullman Regional Hospital for Friday, Sept. 8. The open house and tour will show the public the most recent remodeling and renovation of the surgical suites at the hospital.
The hospital recently underwent a $2.3 million surgery expansion project, which included the addition of a fourth operating room. Technology upgrades were also included and will soon be completed.
Megan Guido, chief marketing and community relations coordinator for the hospital, said one of the technology upgrades is the addition of 4K cameras to assist surgeons during procedures.
“During the tour we'll be showing imaging using that 4K technology so people can see how clear and precise those pictures are,” she said.
This technology is now being used during surgeries at the hospital.
“The cameras are replacing the old ones and are so that the surgeons can see their surgical field more clearly,” said Guido. “These will be used in all surgeries.”
In addition to seeing the new operating room and technology upgrades, tour participants will also be able to get a preview of the planned expansion of same day services, said Guido.
This expansion will be at the back of the hospital near the emergency room. The plan is to break ground on that project next spring.
The current expansion project came in at $2.3 million, and that was funded, in part, by donations from Ed and Beatrice Schweitzer, the MJ Murdock Charitable Trust and community donations. The donations totaled $1.5 million.
The free open house Sept. 8 will begin with a social and appetizers at 5:30 p.m., and the tour will follow at 6:15 p.m.
Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP. The RSVP can be completed online at http://www.pullmanregional.org by clicking on “building on surgical excellence.”
