Taiko drum group

booked for WSU

The taiko drum group On Ensemble will perform in WSU ’s Jones Theatre Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m.

The group’s world fusion sound blends ancient Japanese taiko drumming traditions with diverse musical elements ranging from jazz, rock and electronica to Central Asian overtone singing.

Reserved seating costs $18 adults, $15 seniors (ages 60 and up), and $9 non-WSU students and youth. WSU student admission is free with valid ID.

Tickets are on sale now at all TicketsWest outlets, WSU’s Beasley Coliseum (open 10 to 2 Monday through Friday). The Daggy Hall box office will open for ticket sales two hours before the performance.

Karino-Evans, King Kohaku, born Aug. 24 at seven pounds, one ounce, to Hank Evans and Emi Karino-Evans, Pullman. Paternal grandparents are Jim and Dory Evans, Elko, Nev. Maternal grandparents are Yoshihiko and Eiko Karino, Miyagi, Japan. Baby joins brother Rocky, 6, and sister Ruby, 2.
