Sheep readied for fair

Steve and Fran Maki’s daughter Sarah from Moses Lake was here this weekend to help kids shear their sheep in preparation for the county fair. About 15 kids from around the area brought their lambs to be worked on. Last Thursday, Fran and Steve went to the Kittitas Fair in Ellensburg to watch Sarah judge the sheep classes.

Steve Camp and his son, Tony, went salmon fishing in Puget Sound last Thursday and Friday. Tony lives in Olympia. They caught three fish.

Country Bible Church’s new fall time for worship service at 11 a.m. started this Sunday, Sept. 3.

Art and Colene Sager flew to Mount Vernon Saturday morning for a get-together of first cousins and extended family. They had a picnic and visited near Big Lake. They stayed two full days and returned home Sunday evening.

Phyllis Stueckle has returned home. She had been living at the rehab center in Colfax for a time.

Saturday, Karen Broeckel and her sister, Patty Wieber, attended the wedding of Lauren Haas and Austin Carney at the home of her parents, Wayne and Tami Kyllo Haas, near Spokane. Lauren is the granddaughter of Carol and the late Tom Kyllo, former Dusty residents. The outdoor wedding and reception was also attended by other Whitman County residents, including Bud and Judy Aune and Durand and Roberta Cox.
