River lockages now available by request

Recreational boaters on the Snake and Columbia rivers can now lock past dams at almost any time during daylight hours. Navigation officials with the Corps’ Walla Walla District announced the policy change would take effect Saturday. The "on request" lockage policy replaces a schedule with 30-minute intervals between upstream and downstream lockages.
