County calls for rock crushing bids at Bauer

Whitman County Commissioners approved a call for bids for rock crushing at Bauer Quarry outside Colton and piling at the Gnaedinger stockpile site north of Palouse on Highway 27. The bid calls for 50,000 tons of rock from Bauer to be crushed and 50,000 tons to be stockpiled at Gnaedinger.

Estimated cost for each job will be $250,000 to $300,000.

The crushed rock will be in the form of gravel for county roads, chips for chip-sealing and sand for sanding.
