The $1.8 million Sand Road widening project is complete. Begun last fall and delayed for a time over winter due to frozen ground, the four miles of work closed last week with spraying of Hydroseed to control erosion on dirt slopes at the sides of the road.
“We called the project complete ... finally,” said Dean Cornelison, assistant county engineer. M. A. DeAtley of Clarkston was general contractor on the project,
The bridge span on the road was widened from 19 to 26 feet.
