Tekoa/Rosalia junior Gavin Merritt closed down the win margin of NWC’s Tyler Shea Tuesday in the NE cross-country run at Springdale. Shea, who has dominated the league events to date, finished at 16:15 and Merritt placed second at 16:36.
Randy Dixon of Springdale finished third with a 16:45 clocking.
Springdale took the team win on their home course with a 54 total, and Asotin finished second with a 67.
The Crusaders took the win on the girls side with a 34, and Colfax was second with a 42.
Rose Melville of Lamont, who runs for the LRSW Broncos, had a strong win on the girls side with a 20:18 clocking. Zarah Johnson of Kettle Falls placed second with a 20:49.
Anna Cocking of Colfax placed second in the middle school run with a 12:03, just 10 seconds back of winner Kassidy Koch of Reardan.
