Oakesdale defeated Colton in a showdown Tuesday in 1B volleyball action on the Wildcats’ court. The two power clubs battled to a 29-27 score in the first game, and then the Nighthawks pulled out the next two, 25-11 25-23.
Colton did stake leads over the undefeated Oakesdale club in the first and third games, but they couldn’t hold an edge. The loss ended Colton’s win run at nine games.
Logan Reed had 24 kills for Oakesdale, and Madison Shrope put up 30 assists. Brooklyn Henley hit five aces and had 13 digs for the visitors.
Colton was led by Josie Schultheis with five kills and five aces. Jordyn Moehrle also hit five kills and had nine digs and Emily Schultheis had five kills and five blocks
Tekoa Rosalia kills picked up another league win in the NE league round Tuesday with a five game battle at Reardan.
The Timberwolves pulled it out with a 15-10 edge in the fifth game decider. The two teams locked up at 2-2 over the first four sets, 25-22 19-25, 25-20 and 10-25.
Gwyn Razo hit six kills and three blocks for the Timberwolves, and Kylee Jenneskens had 14 assists.
Thursday the Timberwolves posted a four-game win over Asotin in NE league actions, 8-25 25-19 25-17 11-25 and 15-12. Elise Wilkions had seven kills for the T-wolves, and Jenneskens finished with 14 assists. Addison Claussen had nine digs for Tekoa/Rosalia.
Oaksdale in the Thursday 1B round hammered Waitsburg 25-5 25-13 and 25-10 with Henley hitting 16 kills, and Shrope lofting 20 assists Reed had 10 digs against the Cardinals.
Colton also posted three-straight wins in the Thursday round in a match with with Touchet, 25-14, 25-23, 25-12, Moehrle hitting 4 kills, and Josie Schultheis hitting four aces.
