Hubner, Fisher seek Crabtree Road work

Two men appeared to county commissioners Monday to advocate for safety work on Crabtree Road near Garfield.

“We’ve had a dangerous spot there for years,” said Rod Hubner, noting an accident in the winter of 1997 in which two people died when their vehicle went off the road and rolled over into the creek.

“A guy went in there last winter, too,” said Rudy Fisher.

“It’s been a concern of ours, quite a few years,” said County Public Works Director Mark Storey, who started with the county in 2001.

Reflective markers were installed along Crabtree Road after the 1997 crash.
