Permit fees reflect growth

Whitman County Building Inspector Dan Gladwill presented a third quarter 2017 building report to county commissioners Monday, showing total fees of $39,315, up almost $10,000 from last year.

Permits issued were 48 and total inspections 107.

Gladwill attributed the rise to new houses going in recently approved cluster residential districts.

“Probably 70 percent of the new houses are in the Pullman area,” he said....
