LaCrosse Outreach Thrift Store has re-opened after a two-week restoration and cleaning. Several features have been added in an effort to interest those who have not experienced the thrift store.
The book department has been organized to display the hardcovers and mostly new paperbacks.
The main room will feature collectibles and quality figurines. Next to the book shelves is a wall for gift-items. Gift wrapping is available at no cost.
Many people from out of town have donated quality clothing, particularly in the adult room. Winter coats are on a new wall rack easily seen.
The kitchen hosts many new items such as an electric knife, canning kettle, a set of pots and pans, etc., one complete set of dishes to be sold as a set and several mix and match pieces.
Charlotte Honn has retired as manager, and Michelle Wright, who is familiar with the outreach program, will be the new manager.
Tentative plans are to paint the main room in December.
