Meeting again after their state quarterfinal game last November which Colton lost 60-58, the Wildcats took on Sunnyside Christian at home Oct. 13 and led early.
Colton scored on two touchdown drives back-to-back to go up 12-8 in the first quarter.
It was the only points the Wildcats would score. Sunnyside Christian answered to go up 16-12 before an onside kick gave them back possession.
The Knights held control from there on out, winning 50-12 to remain undefeated (7-0, 2-0 in league).
Colton dropped to 5-2, 1-1 in league.
Leading the Wildcats’ offense were receivers Cameron Bean with six catches for 49 yards; Luke Vining, four for 42 yards, and Matt Wolf, four for 44 yards.
Colton will now play at Kootenai Friday at home for a non-league game against the Warriors.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
Garfield/Palouse 76, St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse 0
At Palouse for their homecoming game, Garfield/Palouse outran the Eagles.
Taking control early with senior quarterback Evan Weagraff, the Vikings went to freshman backup Austin Jones near the end of the first quarter.
Finishing with 13 carries for 118 yards, Jones also threw 3-for-3 for 76 yards. Weagraff had three rushes for 94 yards and three touchdowns. Other Vikings’ touchdowns on the night came from Daniel Orfe (2), Jones (3), Jordan Paddock and Ely Hawkins.
Gar/Pal (4-1, 1-0 league) will play at home Friday against Touchet (0-4, 0-1) in another Southeast 1B league game.
St. John/Endicott will play also play at home against Sunnyside Christian. Kickoff for both games is 7 p.m.
