Colfax – 7 p.m. – Vietnam: the Stories – In partnership with Northwest Public Television and Radio, Whitman County Library presents “Vietnam: sharing and preserving the stories of local veterans” at The Center at Colfax Library.
Friday, Oct. 27

Saturday, Oct. 28
Garfield – 12 p.m. – Basic First Aid for Youth – Kids will learn how to bandage a serious cut, tie a sling and administer back blows and stomach thrusts if someone is choking. Each student will take home their very own practice first aid kit.
Colfax – 2 to 4 p.m. – Drop-in Tech Help – Get hands on help with basic computer skills, internet, ebooks and more.
Endicott School – 4:30 p.m. – ESJ PTO Fall Carnival – Costume Fun Run followed by dinner and a carnival, where the library will have the giant spinning wheel and prizes. Call Tia at 657-3429 for details.

Whitman County Library Rural District – Everybody Reads: Black River – Everybody is reading “Black River” by S.M. Hulse in anticipation of the regional author’s visit to Whitman County in early Nov. Sign-up to meet the author.
Colfax – Grain Elevators of Whitman County – This photo exhibit features the rustic and vibrant photography of Dennis Witmer. The display will be available through Nov. 15 and includes photos of more than 60 sites … nearly every elevator in our county.
Monday, Oct. 30
Colton – 10:30 a.m. – Storytime – Kiddos and their families are invited to the library for an exciting reading adventure.
LaCrosse – 2:30 to 5 p.m. – Adult coloring – Bring your favorite coloring supplies or use the library’s and join us for a relaxing time of coloring together.
Colton – 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. – Snap Circuit Fun. – Kids can explore more than 60 color-coded, real circuit components that snap together to create working electronic circuits and devices. Ages 10 and older. Sponsored by the Washington State Library.
Tuesday, Oct. 31

Colfax – 2 to 4 p.m. – Drop-in Tech Help – Drop-into the TEK Center to receive individual assistance with your device.
Colfax – 2 to 4 p.m. – Color Me Crafty – Adults of all ages are invited to enjoy coffee, cookies and coloring with friends.
Oakesdale – 5 to 7 p.m. – Halloween Party – Stop in to the party for themed activities, fun games and witches’ brew.
Downtown Garfield – 5 to 7 p.m. – Trunk-or-Treat – Mini carnival, photos, haunted house, parade, costume contest, and, of course, the Trunk-or-Treat and car decorating contest. Fun to be had by all (geared toward elementary age children).
Wednesday, Nov. 1
Endicott and St. John – Afterschool Fun – Stop by St. John for Junior First Aid or Endicott to paint and hide rocks.
Colfax – 10 to 11 a.m. – Fit and Fun – Seniors can enjoy a gentle warm-up, low impact workout and soothing cool down.
Thursday, Nov. 2
Colfax, LaCrosse and Tekoa – Storytime – Bring your little ones to the library for an early literacy boost and some serious fun.
Albion – 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. – Free Medicare Help – Join SHIBA volunteers, Joyce and Daniel Leonard, for free and impartial information to meet your needs. Drop-in anytime to receive assistance, as Medicare is a changing and complex process.
Tekoa – 4 to 5 p.m. – Ladies Craft Night – Bring a friend and enjoy crafts, friendship and the sharing of expertise.
Albion – 5 to 7:30 p.m. – Knit Night and Fireside Chats – Learn to knit, finish a craft project, and/ or relax with friends.
