Serving Whitman County since 1877
The November luncheon meeting for the Palouse Scenic By-way will be at the Harvest Moon restaurant in Rockford Nov. 27 at noon.
“We’re going to talk a lot about tourism,” said Carol Cooper, tourism director at the Pullman Chamber of Commerce and by-way co-chair.
The Palouse Scenic By-way is a three-legged, 218 mile route winding through scenic roadways and various communities, the majority of which are in Whitman County.
“We’re not like the traditional loop,” Cooper said.
Anyone along the by-way with an interest in tourism is welcome to attend the meetings, including local chambers of commerce, city officials and businesses. The October meeting was attended by a mayor, a business manager and representatives from three towns. They shared what was going on in their individual communities and tourism events.
“It’s just a way of staying connected,” Cooper said.
The November meeting will also include an educational presentation about tourism.
“I think a lot of people will get a lot out of it,” noted Cooper.
Cooper will also have Palouse Scenic By-way literature such as maps, flyers, pamphlets and special interest brochures for anyone who wants to take them.
“If they’ll just reach out, I’ll get them the information,” she said.
The September meeting was scheduled to be in Rockford, but was cancelled due to the shooting at Freeman School.
