Hearing slated for Lancaster zone

Whitman County commissioners set Dec. 18 at 11:15 a.m. for a hearing on a request by Whitgro, Inc., for a zone change for their location at Lancaster.

The change would take it from an ag zone to a limited heavy industrial. The new categorization would make it so Whitgro is not required to get a conditional use permit each time they make a change to the property, such as adding a scale, according to Alan Thomson, county planner....
