Sentenced to prison

Trevor Gorsline, 33, Walla Walla resident who was arrested on a drug charge in Colfax Sept. 28, was sentenced to 12-plus months in prison Friday after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine. The sentence means he will be transferred to the state prison system.

Gorsline, who had a record of convictions in Walla Walla County, was assigned an offender score of seven when he entered his plea Friday.

Officer Joe Handley stopped Gorsline at James and Poplar in South Colfax after he observed a vehicle which was having trouble staying within the lane of traffic. He determined Gorsline was driving with a suspended license. A subsequent search turned up the methamphetamine which led to the conviction Friday in court.

Gorsline was also ordered to pay a $2,000 drug fine plus costs and fees.
