Port will begin search for new operators

Port of Whitman commissioners at their Thursday meeting agreed to begin the process to hire a new concierge at Boyer Park and Marina. The marina restaurant at Boyer is closed, and the marina closed Dec. 6.

“At least we’ll get rolling,” said John Love, commission chair at the meeting Thursday.

The port has already been approached by 12 people about the concierge position. In past years, reservations for the park would begin Jan. 1, but now any reservations will have to wait until a new concierge is hired.
