Tree winners announced

Colfax Library announced the winners of the decorated Christmas tree contest at the Art Among the Trees reception. Voting commenced at the Dec. 7 Winterfest celebration that kicked off the downtown Colfax holiday festivities.

The winners are: People's Choice - J.P. Pies -baking themed tree with pie slice-shaped and baking tool ornaments, topped with a chef's hat; Most Creative-Whitman County Library - Tree made of books: Kids' Choice-Jennings Elementary - Dual tree display with a black Darth Vader and a white Stormtrooper tree.

Judge's selections were Hennigar Trucking with a tree adorned with many toy trucks and Hennigar hats and Bryan Johnson with a Peacock-themed tree.

The drawing winner of the movie-themed raffle tree sponsored by Pioneer Title was Toni Blackwell of Thornton. In the spirit of the holidays, Toni donated the tree back to a local family in need. Proceeds will be used for the roofing project for The Center.
