Mat fund drive report

In a followup report Dec.19, Colfax Athletic Director Nathan Holbrook noted the new mat for the wrestling program was purchased for $9,000. The new mat made its public debut Dec. 13 when the Bulldogs hosted a double dual meet with Davenport and Potlatch as guests.

Holbrook reported the school district paid half the cost. The other half was raised with individuals and businesses buying sponsorships of weight classes during last year’s regional wrestling tournament in Colfax.

Jones Truck & Implement and Little Guys Wrestling also donated to the purchase of the mat, and JTI assisted with getting the mat here.

Holbrook noted the mat is now officially in the school district’s inventory to comply with insurance coverage requirements.
