Compassion Closet slated

for Jan. 27

Macedonia Baptist Church will hold its semi-annual Compassion Closet on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 10 a.m. to noon. This is a free clothing and household item giveaway. Clothes in a variety of sizes will be available for infants to adults, including maternity. They will also have shoes, toys, books, baby items and household goods. This event is free and open to the public. They are also accepting donations right now. Items needed most are children's clothes in all sizes. If you would like to make a donation, please call the church at 509-397-3907 and leave a message to schedule a time. Macedonia Baptist Church is located at 1904 N. Oak Street in Colfax.

Garfield

Senior Meal

The next Garfield Senior Meal will be Thursday, Jan. 18, at noon at the Garfield Legion/Grange Hall. On the menu will be Swiss steak, tomato soup, mashed potatoes, green salad and corn, with apple crisp for dessert.

Annual MLK

interfaith service

The annual Martin Luther King interfaith service, celebration and fellowship will be Sunday, Jan. 14, at St. James Episcopal Church, 1410 NE Stadium Way, Pullman, at 4 p.m.

Come celebrate and reflect upon the legacy of Martin Luther King and that of other spiritual leaders in the Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Baha'i traditions.

The interfaith service will be followed by a free meal catered by Mela. The theme of this year's celebration is "Our Human Unity." The group God’s Harmony will be singing. Please join us!
