Whitman County commissioners Monday approved a request from the Public Works Department to make a speed zone change on Old State Route 26 near Hooper.
Now posted with 20 miles per hour speed limit on a 1,000 yard stretch which passes under a railroad trestle, a Public Works crew will re-set the speed limit to 50 miles per hour and put up warning signs for its curve.
“With signs, this cleans things up and makes the road safer,” Public Works Director Mark Storey said. The new signs will be up by Feb. 1....
