Chocolate walk
returns to U-town
The Uniontown Chocolate Walk will return for 2018. Start the morning at Wawawai Canyon Winery for coffee and pastries. The winery opens at 8 a.m. Lunch will be available for purchase at the Artisan Barn from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until the food runs out. While you're there, visit the Andy Sewell exhibit at the Dahmen Barn.
Look for the balloons along Highway 195 in Uniontown and Colton for participating businesses. Complimentary chocolate will be provided at each of the participating stores. Colton businesses participating are Kean Wilcox vintage photographs, and Uniontown businesses are Artisans at the Dahmen Barn, Community Marketplace, Wawawai Canyon Winery, The Uniontown Community Club, The Shop at the Barn, Robyn’s Nest Antiques and Splendid Old Stuff antiques and collectibles.
Shop the antique stores. The Uniontown Community Club opens at 5 p.m. Stop in for a chocolate cocktail. Memberships are required or have a member sign you in for first-time visitors.
Make it a Valentine's date and reserve a room at the Historic Churchyard Inn. Mention the Uniontown Chocolate Walk and receive a 20 percent discount on a room for the night.
'Finding love'
at Palouse
Bank Left Bistro and Gallery and Open Eye Consignment in Palouse will celebrate love Feb. 10 with an art exhibit and sale titled "Abandoned Art-Finding Love Again" from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will also be a Valentine Luncheon from noon until 2.
As part of this celebration, Open Eye Consignment shop will sponsor an antique sale from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Palouse Grange Hall on the same day.

Denver dance troupe will
perform at WSU
Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, one of America’s foremost modern dance companies, will perform “MictlanRx” 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, in Washington State University’s Jones Theatre. They use the language of movement to honor African American heritage and explore the human condition. Based in Denver, the ensemble has performed throughout the United States and in more than 20 countries on five continents.
"MictlanRx" portrays the life and struggles of indigenous and Afro-Mexican people.
Reserved seating for this performance is $22 adults, $18 non-WSU students and $16 youth under 16.

P.E.O.
Chapter AF met Jan. 22 at Peace Lutheran Church with Liane Smith as hostess and co-hostess. Fourteen members responded to roll call by stating if they were home or away for Christmas.
Ways & Means Committee announced that the socks with loose change will be collected at the March 12 meeting. This will be our fundraiser for the scholarship fund.
It was agreed to pay our chapter commitment to the P.E.O. projects.
The next meeting will be held on Feb. 12, with Tammy Lewis as hostess and co-hostess. The By-Laws Committee will review the constitution and Washington state and local chapter by-laws.
Rosalia
Garden club
Rosalia GC will resume meetings Feb. 7 at the Rosalia United Methodist Church. The meeting will start with dessert at 1 p.m. served by hostess Penni Barringer.
The program presentation will be on the new National Garden Club's floral designs introduced in 2017.
MarvaLee Peterschick, a NGC instructor will demonstrate the new Cascade design, Low-Profile and Group Mass designs.
Members are reminded to bring their houseplant cuttings or plants for exchange and discussion.
The members judged the Forest Service & NGC Smokey Bear & Woodsy Owl youth posters in December and the first-place winners in each grade were entered into state competition. The top U.S. winner will receive a $1,000. scholarship reserved in their name and the opportunity to attend the National Garden Club convention at Philadelphia in May.
Colfax grads luncheon
The next Colfax Alumni Luncheon will be in Spokane at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Timber Creek Buffet located in the Argonne Village Shopping Center, 9211 East Montgomery, Millwood, Spokane.

Pullman LWV
Pullman League of Women Voters Feb. 5 will feature Annie Pillers from Friends of Hospice. She will present information on the Serenity House, the new home purchased for hospice in Pullman. They will meet at Umpqua Bank. Social time will start at 6:30 with the program to begin at 7 p.m.
