W.C. Elections supervisor resigns

Whitman County Elections Supervisor Karen Bafus has resigned and will depart the staff as of Friday. Bafus said under conditions of her new employment opportunity she could not stay on staff here past Friday.

Bafus has been employed with the county for close to 13 years.

Debbie Hooper, the previous elections supervisor, resigned last June after 15 years of service to the county.

Cindy Pitts, who has been working in the elections office, has been certified for elections duty, Bafus said.
