Six grapplers win at sub-regional

Six local wrestlers pegged first-place wins Saturday in the sub-regional round at Ritzville to lead qualifications for the regional tournament in Reardan this Saturday.

The regional round will match the top four from the north and south sides to decide four entries in the state Mat Classic at Tacoma Feb. 16-17.

First place winners at Ritzville Saturday were Nolan Burrill-113, Kolby Slate-125, Chris Jones-152, Travis Knauff (GP)-160, Dane Hall-170 and Augie Allenbach-220.

Also qualifying for the regional rounds were Kolby Sisk-second at 106, Caden Noha of SJE-third at 145, Dakota Hall-third at 160, Braeden Rogers-fourth at 170, Leo Huels-fourth at 180, and Chayne Aeschliman-third at 220.

Colfax team score was 203, behind the 307.5 win posted by Reardan. Garfield/Palouse and St. John/Endicott were posted with separate team scores with GP at 24 and SJE at 18.
