Seven Colfax High School junior girls will compete in this year's Distinguished Young Women of Colfax program which will be Saturday, March 17, at 7 p.m. in the Colfax High School Auditorium. Theme this year will be "Back in Time."
Jantzen Larsen, DYW of Colfax 2018; Abbie Miller, first alternate, and Sara Whelchel, second alternate, will emcee the program.
Last year, the program presented $3,800 in scholarship awards, and the aim is to do that again this year.
Advance ticket sale proceeds will go directly to the scholarship funds distributed this year. Tickets will be available for purchase at $8 each.
Additional scholarship money comes through the donations of area businesses each year.
Competing this year will be Madi Cox, daughter of Craig and Kelli Cox, monologue; Casey Fulfs, daughter of Keith Fulfs and Jennifer Cooper, dance; Jenna Harwood, daughter of Terry and Tricia Harwood, piano; Elizabeth Harwood, daughter of Terry and Tricia Harwood, piano; Abigail Huber, daughter of Dan and Robin Huber, flute; MaKenna Roberts, daughter of Jeremiah and Sarina Roberts, dance, and Tayma Vanek, daughter of Todd and Amy Vanek, piano.
