Palouse considers housing addition

The Palouse board of adjustment and planning commission heard plans Wednesday night at a public hearing for a proposed subdivision development south of the Palouse Cove housing development at the south end of town.

The seven-acre plot of land, within the city limits, is owned by Palouse Builders, LLC, of Spokane, which is proposing the development.

The meeting Wednesday night was back-to-back gatherings by the Board of Adjustment to consider whether duplexes could be built on four lots, and the Planning Commission to evaluate the overall proposal.

The commission will now have 30 days to send a recommendation to the city council. The council will then have 60 days to decide on the proposal.
