Dayton-Waitsburg sport merger back

The full sports merger for Waitsburg and Dayton teams is now back on track after Waitsburg school board members voted Monday to reverse the decision they made to back out of the merger Feb. 14.

Waitsburg made the unanimous vote, and Dayton school board members Feb. 21 voted unanimously to ask them to reconsider, according to a report in the March 1 Dayton Chronicle. The report noted concerned residents of both districts attended the Dayton meeting and the subsequent Waitsburg meeting.

Dayton and Waitsburg had already combined for football, baseball and some other sports.
