Appel, Berquist claim state FFA recognition

Colfax FFA seniors Kyle Appel and Caleb Berquist will be recognized on the main stage at Washington FFA’s state convention in Pullman.

Appel is the state proficiency winner in Diversified Crop Placement. This consists of a 20-page application documenting the skills he learned throughout FFA and working on the farm, earnings on his projects and his overall involvement in agriculture. He will be recognized on May 12 for his hard work and dedication to agriculture throughout his high school career. His first-place state application will be forwarded to compete at the the national level.

Caleb Berquist has been named a Washington FFA state star finalist. He and four other state finalists will represent their FFA chapters on stage at state convention when the overall state winner will be announced. Caleb has worked many hours at Union Cattle Company learning the ins and outs of the cattle industry. He applied for this award in February.
