Vikings baseball underway

The Garfield/Palouse baseball team is off to a 1-1 start with a win over St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse and a loss to Pomeroy.

Opening the year March 20 at Pomeroy, Gar/Pal went down 11-1, with senior Evan Weagraff delivering the team’s only two hits. Pomeroy, last year’s 1B state champions, took the game in five innings, byway of the 10-run rule.

On Monday, Garfield/Palouse played at Endicott for a single game against the Eagles after a Saturday doubleheader was rained out. Gar/Pal won 23-0 as Weagraff, Seth Thompson and Blake Jones all got two hits.
