Bulldog girls take two over T-wolves at Rosalia

Colfax softball girls defeated Tekoa/Rosalia twice Friday in a pair of league games at the Rosalia Park field. They won the first game 20-2 with seven hits. The game was shut down after three innings on the 15-run rule.

The Bulldogs and Timberwolves tied at 1-1 after the first inning, but Colfax dropped the hammer with a 15-run stack in the second inning.

Colfax senior slinger Abbie Miller allowed three hits, walked six batters and struck out nine.

Helina Hahn led the seven-hit Colfax attack with a triple and two singles. Desi Brown doubled and Shyah Antoine, Chelsea Backer and Miller added singles.

TR pitcher Elise Wilkins struck out five Bulldogs and allowed the seven hits. Callie Jeske rapped two singles, and Hannah Theis doubled for the Tekoa/Rosalia hits.

Colfax booked an 11-0 shutout in the second game which ended after five innings. The Bulldogs scored runs in every inning.

Kennedy Schmidt struck out 10 Timberwolves and allowed just one hit in tossing the shutout.

Madi Cox led Colfax bats in the second game with three singles. Hahn and Maddie Shrope each rapped a double and single for the Bulldogs, and Antoine paired singles.

Brown, Riane Jones, Lyndi Kruse and Schmidt each tagged a single.

Tekoa/Rosalia’s Naomi Meredith tagged the lone hit off Schmidt in the second game.

The Bulldog girls are slated to play a double-header at Liberty on Saturday with the first game set at noon.
