Gorilla girls visit today

Last round on NE action for Colfax softball players will be against Davenport with the Gorilla girls slated at McDonald Park today. The game date was bumped from its original date Tuesday

Colfax team will be one of the host sites for the NE playoff rounds next Tuesday in the first round. The Bulldogs finished on top of the south side with the lone league loss going to Asotin.

They will play the winner of the south fifth-place team and the north fourth -place team.

Action for the the second round of the NE playoffs will be May 15 at Spokane’s Merkel field.

The district playoffs will have four slots to the state tournament.

Colton’s softball team defeated Colfax 9-5 April 25 at Colton with a six-run explosion in the third inning. The game was tied at 3-3 before the Colton breakout.

Josie Schultheis pitched the win for Colton and allowed eight hits. Addison Kinzer led the Wildcat bats with a homer and a single, and Schultheis had a double and a single.

Anni Cox doubled and singled to lead the Bulldog bats. The loss at Colton followed two defeats Tuesday at Northwest Christian. The Crusaders are the top finishers on the north side.
