Lee Alan McCoy

July 2, 1953 – June 30, 2018

Lee Alan McCoy went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at his home near Viola, Idaho, surrounded by his family.

Lee was born July 2, 1953,

in Moscow to Otto D. and Veneta E. (Jack) McCoy. He grew up on the family farm and attended Moscow schools, graduating from Moscow High in 1971. While in school, Lee was active in Future Farmers of America, earning his State Farmer's Degree and District Star Farmer as a senior. Lee worked at the family business, McCoy Plumbing and Heating, during school and for several years afterward.

Lee and Kathleen Lundy were married on March 29, 1975, at the Palouse Nazarene Church and welcomed their daughter Jenny in 1977. In the mid-1980's, Lee shifted his attention to building apartments and farming full time. He was active in Gideon's International, Palouse Hills Camp and served as State New Member Coordinator for a time. Lee served on the board of the Latah County Grain Growers for over 5 years. His family and his church were extremely important to him. He served on the board of the Moscow Church of the Nazarene for many years and helped build the new sanctuary. He had a heart for people and spirit of helpfulness which gave him great pleasure to help anyone in need. Lee enjoyed spending time on the family property on Moscow Mountain, being outdoors, camping and picking huckleberries. In 2014 Lee and Kathleen were delighted when their kids and grandkids moved back home to help on the farm and work in the family business. Together, they began building their dream home which was completed in 2016. It has brought them great joy as well as on many occasions with friends and family, as being hospitable was one of Lee's greatest delights.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen, daughter, Jenny and son-in-law, Tom Ledford and his grandchildren, Destiny, Bella and Braydon. Also by his brother, Jay (Marva) McCoy of Moscow, a sister-in-law, Carolyn McCoy and a brother-in-law, Gordon Gourley, both of Moscow, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Oba McCoy and a sister, Verlene Gourley.
