Parenting workshop series set at Tekoa

Tekoa Library and the Healthy Tekoa Coalition will host a free, six-week workshop for parents with children between the ages of birth and 8 on Mondays, July 16 through Aug. 20, at the Tekoa Library at 5 p.m.

Topics will includes academic and persistence coaching, emotional literacy, social and self-regulation skills, problem solving and child-directed play. Childcare and light snacks will be provided.

Adults who complete the six-week course will earn a $20 gift certificate. For more information or to register, contact Diane Harp at the Tekoa Library.

Sauces session set at Dahmen

Certified executive chef Al Flores, former executive chef of Nintendo of America in Redmond and one of the former culinary trainers at Amazon.com, will lead a rubs and sauces session at Dahmen Barn in Uniontown July 18, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Sauces will be made in-house and participants can sample the different results.
