Swim the Snake will mark 6th year

The sixth annual Swim the Snake event has been scheduled for Aug. 11 beginning at 11 a.m. at Lyons Ferry State Park. The event will be between Lyons Ferry Marina on the south side of the river and Lyons Ferry State Park on the north side. A new event will be a double crossing, with participants crossing the river in a kayak or on a paddle board and then tagging a relay participant to swim back across the river. Paddle entrants will also have the option of swimming back on their own.

Members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary at Kennewick and the Franklin County Sheriff’s patrol will be on the scene....
