Koker sentenced to 30 days

Deeanna M. Koker, 35, Colfax, was sentenced to 30 days in jail Sept. 21 after she pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of heroin. Koker was arrested Aug. 31 at a residence in the 500 block of N. Mill Street in Colfax. She was arrested on a warrant issued in connection with a Colfax burglary investigation. The Colfax Police Department report said when Officer Cory Alcantar went to the residence, Koker locked herself in a back room.

Sheriff's officers assisting with the arrest forced the room door open and the heroin evidence was found in a subsequent arrest on the burglary warrant. The hero...
