Oakesdale keeps rolling in SE volleyball action

Oakesdale rolled south to Prescott for a sweep Tuesday in SE Volleyball action and remains undefeated at 7-0 in the league competition. The sweep at Prescott followed a four-game win over Pomeroy in the Thursday round.

At Prescott, the Nighthawks rolled out the sweep at 25-2 25-15 25-14 with Logan Reed stacking 17 kills, 18 digs and five blocks.

LouEllen Reed had 12 assists, and Broolyn Henley hit five acres.

In the Thursday round Oakesdale kept their string rolling against Pomeroy rolling with a 15-13 score in the fifth game after the two league foes battled to 2-2 over the first four games.

Oakesdale took the first two games 26-24 and 25-23 in the battle, but Pomeroy came back for wins of 25-19 and 25-20 in the next two games to sent the match to a fifth game.

Logan Reed rolled up 31 kills and 11 digs in the long battle, and Henley put town 22 kills and hit six aces against the Pirates. LouEllen Reed had 47 assits.

Deana Caruso had 14 kills for the Pirates, and Sydney Smiyh put up 24 assists.

Pomeroy swept Orofino in a non-leaguer Tuesday on the Pirates' court, 25-11 25-17 and 25-22. Caruso had 17 kills in that match.

With a crowded gym for homecoming, St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse Tuesday defeated Colton 22-25, 25-22, 25-20, 7-25, 15-9.

The win put SJEL at 4-3 in the Southeast 1B behind Oakesdale and Pomeroy.

Ashlynn Archer led with 17 digs, 13 kills, 10 blocks and three aces. Roxy Dickerson added 28 assists.

For Colton, Emily Schultheis had 11 kills and nine blocks. Jordyn Moehrle had 25 digs and Riley Vining 15 assists.

Last weekend, St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse played six matches at the Linda Sheridan Volleyball Classic in Spokane, losing to big schools Mt. Spokane, Walla Walla and Moses Lake in pool play, then losing to Timberlake, Idaho, beating Deer Park and losing to Shadle Park.

Colton also played, going 2-4 in the day, beating North Central of Spokane and Enumclaw.

Before going to Spokane, the Eagles Thursday won at Prescott, 25-12, 26-24, 25-15. Alynn Harder had 19 digs and Roxy Dickerson 18 assists. .

Colton in the Thursday round booked a sweep over Touchet 25-11 25-17 and 25-14 to move their record to 3-2. Emily Schultheis hit 10 kills for the Wildcats Thursday and booked 18 for 18 at the serve lined with four aces. Abby Kelly had 17 assists.
