Jim Lyle, speaking for the Grange at the Sept. 24 fair board meeting, requested the board develop a written policy for everything involved in the fair operation. Discussion following his request related to the Pomona Grange grain mosaic which was covered up during the fair because it depicted a marijuana leaf, and Lyle subsequently reported on the bean count balloting which was intended to be part of the Pomona display.
Lyle reported this week as of the date of the fair board meeting the fair manager was unable to produce a copy of fair board policy. He said it appears to him the policy was lost during a past change in command, and believes the situation will be remedied in future board meetings.
