Seven towns in the county have filed a total of 10 special levy requests which will be on the Nov. 6 general election ballot. Also, five park and recreation districts have filed for levy requests, most listing annual funding for swim pool operation for next year.
Rosalia tops the list of city projects with a $95,000 request for street projects. Also among the requests from towns is Farmington's request for a $15,000 levy for its current expense fund. The proposal was on the Aug. 7 primary ballot and failed to get the 60 percent approval rating.
Other town proposals include Endicott, $7,500 for fire and EMTs; Oakesdale, $14,000 for fire and public safety and $41,000 for streets; Palouse, $44,000 for streets and $34,000 for the swim pool; St. John, $50,000 for streets and $60,000 for upgrades to water and sewer, and Tekoa, $25,000 for streets.
Parks and Recreation requests include $65,000 at LaCrosse, $55,000 at St. John, $82,000 at Oakesdale, $75,000 at Rosalia and $45,000 at Endicott.
