Wanda Mae Milbert

A mass of Christian Burial for Wanda Milbert, 77, will be Saturday, Oct. 20, at 11 a.m. at Saint Mary's Catholic Church at Potlatch with Father Chase Hasenoehrl officiating. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Mrs. Milbert died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at her Potlatch home.

Born Nov. 3, 1940, at Colton to Elmer and Katherine Wirtz Riedner, she attended Guardian Angels Catholic Elementary School and Notre Dame Academy High School in Colton and graduated in 1958.

Wanda married John Milbert Jan. 6, 1960, at Colton while he was serving in the US Navy. Following his service, the couple made their home in Potlatch. Wanda was a homemaker most of her life, but the couple operated Milbert's Cashway on Highway 95 for five years. Wanda also worked as a bartender at the Pullman Moose Lodge and as a cook at the Acacia fraternity in Pullman. She retired in 2006.

Mr. Milbert died in 2015.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Potlatch, Potlatch VFW Auxiliary and a former member of the Pullman Moose Lodge. Wanda taught hunter's education in Potlatch for 12 years and was a Girl Scout Leader for several years.

Survivors include four daughters, Michele Foasberg of Nevada City, Calif .; Laurie Bass, Lewiston; Sandra Cochrane, Potlatch, and Christine Milbert, Potlatch; one son, Frank Milbert, Moscow; one sister, Marci Henry of Richland; 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by a grandson, Geoffrey Borchers.

Memorial gifts may be given to the Potlatch Ambulance Fund, Box 63, Potlatch, or to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Potlatch.
