Colfax Police may need assist from sheriff's dept.

Colfax Mayor Todd Vanek Oct. 15 reported to the city council that he has discussed possible police coverage in Colfax with the sheriff's office. At the previous council session, council members were informed Colfax could be facing additional resignations in the police department.

Vanek told the council Monday that, as of this week, staffing in the police department should be high enough to provide coverage until the end of the year. He also said the city plans to interview a job candidate this week to fill one of the vacant positions.
