Lorene M. Wheatley

A graveside service for Lorene M. Wheatley, 81, a resident of Potlatch, will be Saturday, Nov. 10, at 10:30 a.m. at the Rock Creek Cemetery, Potlatch, with the Rev. Lee Nicholson officiating. Mrs. Wheatley died Oct. 30, 2018, at Aspen Park of Cascadia in Moscow, Idaho.

Born Feb. 27, 1937, at Liberty, Miss., to Everett and Ruth (Swallow) Taylor, she attended schools at Liberty, moved to Los Angeles and married Donald Wheatley. They moved to Potlatch in 1968. They later divorced.

She worked at nursing homes in Moscow as a certified nurse's assistant until she retired in 1994. She continued to live at Potlatch until she moved to Aspen Park in April of this year.

Lorene enjoyed gardening, reading books and bird watching.

Survivors include three sons, Harold Gutscher, Jr. (Lori), Jacksonville, Fla .; Victor Gutscher (KD), Princeton, Idaho; and Donald (Loriann) Wheatley, Potlatch. She is also survived by four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Lipps.
