Colfax FFA

Ten members of the Colfax FFA Soils and Land Evaluation team Oct. 31 represented CHS at the state event near Ritzville. The Colfax teams placed third and eighth, and Gunnar Aune was recognized as a top 10 individual.

Last Thursday, two teams traveled to Moses Lake to compete in the state FFA potato evaluation event. The event teaches students to grade potatoes based on USDA standards and to recognize defects and blemishes. The event allows FFA members two minutes to tell five reasons why 10 potatoes are graded U.S. number one, two or cull.

Colfax placed sixth overall. Kolby Slate, Cotton Booker, Ayden Miller were in the top 10.

Colfax FFA will decorate a holiday tree at the Whitman County Library in Colfax as part of their Festival of Trees celebration. It will consist of a blue and gold theme.
