Flook faces charges here following Asotin trial

Roger Flook, the Endicott resident who was convicted of child molestation by an Asotin County jury last week was charged here in October of 2017 with dealing in child pornography and voyeurism. The investigation report alleges the crimes took place in July of 2015.

The Asotin County trial is the second time the case has gone before a jury after Flook prevailed in a 2017 appeal of his first trial.

The Asotin County jury received the case Dec. 13, deliberated for three hours without a verdict and resumed deliberation Friday morning.

Flook was convicted on the child molestation charge, but found not guilty of the child rape charge. He has been scheduled for sentencing Jan. 7.

The Lewiston Tribune's report by Kerry Sandaine noted Flook for the second Asotin County trial hired high-profile defense attorney John Henry Browne of Seattle to represent him.

According to the investigation report in the pending Whitman County case, the alleged charges relate to a thumb drive which was found in a pickup truck that had been purchased from the Flooks. The subsequent owner of the truck, who now resides out-of-state, was not initially aware of what was on the thumb drive until he used it with a different device.

The voyeurism charge alleges a video on the thumb drive shows a young female who appeared to have been photographed through a bathroom vent without her knowledge. The 2015 date alleged in the charge stems from the date the video was placed on the thumb drive.

Other pornographic material, believed to have been downloaded from the internet, was also on the thumb drive.

In addition to the 2017 case, six other case files are listed for Flook in the court record in Whitman County going back to 2002, and he is also listed with a juvenile case in 1998.
