Every year for the past 65 years, Santa and reindeer have appeared on Merle Harlow's lawn along a segment of Highway 195 known as Harlow's dip, north of Pullman. Over the last few years, he has had some help from Harlow Farms employees in setting up the display. Harlow said he has had the display for so long that he doesn't remember exactly how he acquired it. He recalls he got it from California. Harlow has had to repaint the display a few times to keep it from fading. The last time it was painted was about 10 years ago, and he figures it is about due for another touch-up. Harlow has been a farmer almost his entire life. Harlow Farms was established in 1942. Harlow alternates his crops which include wheat, garbanzos, barley and peas.
