After its first two-game losing streak in 10 years, the Colton girls returned to the win column this week, remaining in first place in the Southeast 1B league with a record of 5-0, 10-2 overall.
Pomeroy holds second at 11-1, 5-1, their only loss to Colton. Oakesdale is in third with a 3-2 league record followed by St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse and Garfield/Palouse, both 2-3 in league.
Colton will play at Prescott Friday followed by a home game against Garfield/Palouse Saturday. Oakesdale plays next at Garfield/Palouse (Palouse) Friday.
Colton 85, St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse 28
Coming off its two losses to bigger schools in tournament games over Christmas break, Colton won at St. John Jan. 4. Emily Schultheis led with 18 points while Abby Kelly had 13, Dakota Patchen 12 and Addison Kinzer 12. Jordyn Moerhle scored eight points, with seven assists and Rylee Vining had five points and four assists.
Garfield/Palouse 32, Touchet 30
Kenzi Pedersen hit a shot at the buzzer to give the Vikings a two-point league win over Touchet Jan. 4.
The basket was part of her 16 points on the night, including eight rebounds.
Oakesdale 71, Genesee 34
Oakesdale put together a 25-6 run in the second quarter to take command against the non-league Bulldogs at home Jan. 4. Lizzy Perry led the Nighthawks with a game-high 22 points. Logan Reed had 18 points and Julie Baljo 14. Regan Zenner led Genesee with 14 points.
Colton 50, Oakesdale 35
In another Southeast 1B league matchup, Colton met Oakesdale at home Jan. 5. Emily Schultheis scored 17 points with nine rebounds while Abby Kelly had 10 points.
Logan Reed led Oakesdale with 21 points while Lizzy Perry scored nine.
Troy 39, Garfield/Palouse 21
Playing at Palouse Jan. 5, Troy held the Vikings to single-digit scoring in three quarters as Kenzi Pedersen led with seven points and 12 rebounds
Troy’s Jordyne Frederickson and Kiana Hoskins-Oakley combined for 22 points for the 9-3 Trojans of Idaho.
