Colfax girls Friday night pegged a 48-29 win over Reardan to advance their NE-South record to 7-2 going into the last league round at Liberty. The Bulldogs, who have lost both of the league games to the LRS Broncos, will attempt to finish in the league’s number-two slot with a win over the Lancers.
Colfax defeated Liberty 44-40 in the fist-round league battle on the Colfax court Jan. 4.
Liberty girls Friday advanced their league mark a 7-1 with a 71-20 crush of the 1-7 Asotin team at Asotin. They moved to 8-1 with a 71-29 crunch over Reardan in the Tuesday league round so Colfax could tie them in the standings with a win Friday.
After the win over Reardan, Colfax sustained a 30-48 loss to Pomeroy on the Pirates court in non-league action Tuesday. Colfax made the trip without a full lineup.
Pomeroy crushed Colfax 57-28 for the season opener at Colfax when an all-new Bulldogs team went 0-2 on the opening weekend.
Pomeroy is now rolling at number-two in the SE hoops behind Colton in the wind down of the season.
Pirate ace Sydney Smith hit 12 against Colfax to book her 1000 career point mark in the game.
Colfax hit a glum 1-7 at the toss line Tuesday at Pomeroy.
Overall, Colfax girls now stand at 11-8 in the season.
